Senate, tech giants to talk privacy | LinkedIn



The Senate continues to dig into how tech companies are using consumer data. Amazon, Apple, Google and Twitter are among the companies scheduled to appear Wednesday in front of the chamber’s Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation. Lawmakers hope the companies can explain what information is being collected and how it’s being used. Cybersecurity experts have weighed in on the importance of these hearings, including one held earlier this month involving Facebook and Twitter. One big question: Should lawmakers give consumers control over the data companies have on them?
